The team at Orbital Fabrications would like to send our well wishes to our chairman, Ian Pearson, who is raising money for Cancer Research by taking part in the Citroën 2CV 24 Hour Race in Norfolk from the 26th to the 27th of August.

The Citroën 2CV 24 Hour Race, now in its 33rd year, is a landmark event, celebrating the Citroën 2CV, a car designed in France and produced from 1948 to 1990. This year it will take place at Snetterton, in Norfolk. Due to its small size and lightweight body, the car is ideal for a 24 hour race scenario, with replacement parts being relatively easy to find. This is crucial, as parts of the car are likely to become damaged or fail completely, and will need to be replaced rapidly in the pit during the course of the race.

Ian is an experienced racer, coming 1st in Class A at the ‘Autosport Series Production Sports Car Championship 3 Hours Race’ at Snetterton in April 2023 in his Marcos 1800GT, as well as claiming podium positions at a number of other races.

Ian will be racing in this event as part of a team of 4 in a pink Citroën 2CV, marked with the number 13. The decision to use this race to raise money for Cancer Research came from the gentleman Ian purchased this car from being diagnosed with, and ultimately passing away from, cancer. In his honour, Ian decided to race his pink Citroën in this race, and raise as much money for charity as possible.

The team at Orbital Fabrications would like to take this opportunity to wish Ian and his team the best of luck for this endurance race!
